Schneider’s Bakery Raises more than $6,000 for Faith Pruden Family Print News Article
McVay Elementary School custodian Mindy Ward, pictured with Faith Pruden, contacted Schneider’s Bakery about doing a fundraiser.

Faith Pruden, a first grade student at Emerson World Languages & Cultures Magnet School, always thought it would be neat to have her own bakery. That dream came true on May 24, thanks to the combined efforts of Westerville City Schools personnel and Schneider’s Bakery in Uptown Westerville. After learning that Faith was battling an inoperable brain tumor, McVay custodian Mindy Ward contacted Schneider’s. She joined forces with Westerville Central High School custodian Paul Schooley; Westerville Central math teacher Jenny Hamler; and custodial manager Mike Ward, and the team gathered volunteers to make, serve and sell 900 dozen donuts. (On a normal week day, Schneider’s makes about 200 dozen). The name of the store was changed to Faith’s Bakery for that day and in the end, $6,105.87 was raised for the family. This event marked one of many which have been held throughout the community in Faith’s honor.
