| Latino Families Learn to Travel by COTA Bus |
 |
As part of the Westerville City Schools English as a Second Language (ESL) Community Outreach program, the Latino Parents’ Group, on May 21st , invited the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) representatives to their monthly meeting to teach them how to get around town on COTA buses. Under the direction of district employee Marlene Torrez-Graham, the group met at OhioHealth, where they were instructed by COTA trainer Kelly Stephenson and bilingual customer service representative Hector Morat. They reviewed bus routes, received maps, learned about pricing, and were given contact information. The session culminated in an actual bus ride where attendees could put into practice their newly learned skills.
