The State of Ohio now offers school districts an on-line option for making up calamity days in excess of the 5 permitted in Ohio Revised Code. In August of 2011, our Board of Education passed a resolution in support of using this option for up to 3 days of calamity closures (calamity days 6, 7, and 8). The resolution, which gained the approval of the Ohio Department of Education, states that the on-line lessons will be developed by and graded by our teachers in the same manner as all classroom lessons. Students without Internet access will be provided an opportunity to complete the lessons when schools reopen. We are excited about utilizing this make-up mechanism, which we are calling e-Day, as it will assist us as we explore the potential of on-line learning that is currently available to students, teachers, and parents. Additionally, this option will allow families and staff to maintain their planned events should make-up days be necessary.
In the event that the Westerville City School District needs to utilize an e-Day, lessons will appear below ordered by grade level.
Lessons will not be published until an eDay has been issued.
